12.6.1610    NATIONAL POULTRY IMPROVEMENT PLAN

(1) Game bird farm licensees who maintain a breeding flock over the winter to hatch out offspring for sale and potential release in Montana must be National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) certified.

(2) Game bird farm licensees who do not over-winter birds, but purchase their eggs or chicks from NPIP sources do not need to acquire NPIP certification.

(3) NPIP certification is obtained through the Montana Department of Livestock.
