36.12.206 REPRESENTATION (1) A party may appear on their own behalf or may be represented by an attorney in a contested case proceeding. All legal entities, including but not limited to corporations, limited liability companies, trusts, partnerships, and not for profit associations must be represented by an attorney licensed to practice law in the state of Montana throughout all contested case proceedings. This rule shall not be construed to sanction the unauthorized practice of law. (2) The department may appear in a contested case for the limited purpose of representing the interests of the public.
