37.114.509 BRUCELLOSIS (1) Whenever a case of brucellosis occurs: (a) Infection control precautions must be used. (b) Concurrent disinfection of purulent discharges is necessary. (c) The local health officer, in collaboration with state authorities, must immediately investigate every case or suspected case in an effort to establish the diagnosis and determine the source of the infection.
