(1) All air ambulance personnel who are added to the roster of the service after January 1, 1993, must be certified by their local medical director as having completed the knowledge and skill objectives of an aeromedical training program approved by the department, with the exception that a new employee may function as an air ambulance attendant for a maximum of one year without this aeromedical training.
(2) During inter-facility transfers by air ambulance, the service medical director may specify the level of training personnel in attendance must have in order to match the medical needs of the patient, with the proviso that (1) above must still be complied with.
